Mary Frances Craven passed away on March 10th, 2010, at the age of 90. She has been a resident of Sherman, TX for the past 89 years, and most recently at Consulate Health Center of Safety Harbor, Florida.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, William Horace Craven, on June 24, 1993. They were married in Durant, OK in 1935. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Pearl Capps of Sherman, TX, Evelyn Mote of Gainesville, TX, brother, John Thomas of Sherman, and granddaughter Suzanne Phelps.
Frances was born on February 7, 1920 to John and Eunice Thomas. She was employed as an office manager and bookkeeper for T.R. Nowlin for over 20 years. After her retirement, she was a volunteer at Wilson N. Jones Hospital.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Charlie Phelps of Hertford, NC, daughter and son-in-law, Betty and William (Bill) Nobles of Safety Harbor, FL, and son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Sharon Craven of Colorado Springs, CO. Also surviving are, seven (7) grandchildren, eighteen (18) great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and sister, Joan Rogers and husband Delmar of Sherman, Texas, and sisters-in-law, Pat Thomas of Sherman, TX, Margaret Taylor of Plano, TX, Lois Craven of Abilene, TX, and Jennie Ann Little of Seguin, TX
Frances was a loving Mother, Mother-in-law, sister and grandmother, who cared for her family with encouragement and love. She will be missed and remembered with love. In lieu of flowers, donations to HOME HOSPICE 505 W Center Street, Sherman, TX 75090, or FLORIDA HOSPICE, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd, Clearwater, FL 33760 will be appreciated.
Visitation will be at Waldo Funeral Home on Sunday March 14th, 2010 from 2:00-3:30 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Akers Cemetery on Monday March 15th, 2010 at 11:00 am.
