Rebekah Bowden was born January 29, 1996 in Greeley, CO. She was a gift of God to her parents, Rod and Emily Bowden. Bekah was born again as a child of God in Holy Baptism on February 18, 1996. She made a public profession of her faith in God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit at Trinity Lutheran Church, Tyler, TX, on May 2, 2010. The Scripture chosen for that occasion was John 14:6, where Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

In her early years, Bekah and her family lived in Aurora and Castle Rock, CO and McKinney, TX before moving to Tyler, TX. . As a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, she was an active in the student ministries. At Robert E Lee high school, Bekah was a 3-year letterman in volleyball, selected to the All-Conference team and a member of the National Honor Society. After graduating in 2014, Bekah enrolled at Austin College, Sherman, TX. There she also excelled in both academics and volleyball as a 4-year letterman and chosen three times for the All-Conference team. For two years, Bekah led the conference in blocks and was ranked 10 th in the nation as a blocker. She was a member of the Zeta Chi Omega sorority, earned her Bachelor of Arts in Finance and was planning on attending the University of Denver in pursuit of a Master's degree in accounting.

Bekah was often described as a "Light" among her friends, largely because of her radiant and ever-present smile. She had a passionate love for cats. She was fun to be with, creative, determined, expressive and exuberant.
