Two daughters were born to the union and they celebrated 50 years before her passing in 2001.

Eugene was a 27 year veteran of the Sherman Fire Department from May 1961 to July 1987. One of the best memories was when Chief AC Jones picked up his sister from the airport for a surprise visit. Eugene was preceded in death by wife, Fay, brother, Chester Carey and sisters, Minerva Yeager and Betty Heflin, all of Pa.
Survivors include son, Duane and Hellen Carey, and daughters, Anita and Robert McDaniel and Nancy Carey and special daughter, Patricia Hubbard. Also surviving are sister, Violet Wike, and brother, Calvin and Janet Carey all of MD. Carey's legacy includes numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank Robert, Ruth and Jason Smith of the Lighthouse Care Home, Carol Scally of Grayson County Home Hospice and Angie McClain of Advantx Home Health for their devotion and care for our Dad these last 2 years. He left this world with a smile on his face. Carey is home at last!
