Funeral services for Kathleen Hardy, age 88, of Sherman, TX will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 4, 2016 with Rev. David Murphy of North Park Baptist Church officiating at the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman, TX. Arrangements are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.
She passed away on December 30, 2015 at the Texoma Medical Center in Denison, TX.
Kathleen was born on January 8, 1927 in Beggs, OK the daughter of Lee Roy and Ella Amanda Sprouse Hobbs. She married Henry M. Hardy on August 14, 1949 in Flora, IL. He preceded her in death on April 28, 2009.
Kathleen and Henry moved to Sherman in 2008 where they lived at the Renaissance. In her time there, she was a Hospitality Greeter, and was instrumental in starting a sewing room for all the residents to enjoy. She loved to sew and quilt, and also painted porcelain dolls. They were members of the Northpark Baptist Church. Before moving to Sherman, she was very active in the Church, teaching Sunday school, playing the piano for the Church and was active in the WMU. She was a very dedicated Wife, Mother and Grandmother.
Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Kris Leisher and husband John of Ulysses, KS, son, Mark Hardy and wife Valerie of Sherman, TX, five grandchildren, Brooke Corbin and husband Greg of Calera, OK, Austin Hardy of Sherman, TX, Ryan Hardy of Sherman, TX, Kari Figgins and husband Dalyn of Ulysses, KS and Eric Leisher and wife Natalia of Guymon, OK, four great grandchildren, Kenli Dawn Hardy, Rylan Figgins, Kiefer Corbin, and Tristen Corbin. She is also survived by her brother, Larry Hobbs and wife Ester, sister, Dorothy Hagerman and many special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Henry Hardy, three sisters, Virginia, Elizabeth and Pauline and one brother, Bob Hobbs.
Pallbearers will be Austin Hardy, Ryan Hardy, Eric Leisher, Dalyn Figgins, Bruce Ryan and Greg Corbin.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 3, 2015, from 2-4 pm. at Waldo Funeral Home.
