Dr. Rudolph Inman
Sherman- Mass of Christian Burial for Dr. Rudolph Inman will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, December 22 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Rev. Jeremy Myers will officiate with burial following at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Members of the Knights of Columbus will be pallbearers and his grandchildren are honorary pallbearers. Dr. Inman passed away Monday, December 19 at Wilson N. Jones Regional Medical Center.
Rudy was born July 5, 1923 in Sherman to the late Marion Virgil and Ruth Lee (Cordell) Inman. He graduated from Sherman High School in 1941 and proudly served in the US Navy during World War II where he was stationed in the Pacific. He later graduated from Austin College and Baylor Medical School, where he was a Delta Sigma. On April 6, 1947, he and Charleen Johnson were married in Sherman. Dr. Inman worked as a dentist in Sherman for many years before retiring in 1980. He was actively involved in his community. He was a former president of the Austin College Alumni Association and served on the Boy Scout Achievement committee. He held membership in the American Dental Association, International Professional Society, and the Sherman Noon Lions Club. Dr. Rudolph Inman volunteered for several organizations including the Sherman Booster Club, Sherman Chamber of Commerce, and United Way. Dr. Inman was a longtime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where he was 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid golfer.
Dr. Inman will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by two sons, Mark Inman and wife Wendy of Sherman and Tim Inman and wife Cheryl of Sherman; five grandchildren, Natalie Parnell and husband Zach of Wylie, Laura Payne and husband Matt of Fort Worth, D'Ahn McDonald and husband Chris of Sherman, Bryan Inman and wife Jenni of Sherman, and Daniel Inman of Sherman; two step-grandchildren, Valerie Walters and husband Jim Bob of Denison and Holly Yeary and husband Kevin of Sherman; ten great grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Samuel O, Johnson of Morelia, Mexico and Jerry Brasher of Abilene; and one sister-in-law, Shirley Inman of Tyler. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters, and three brothers.
A rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM Wednesday at Waldo Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 PM Wednesday following the rosary. Memorials may be made to Austin College at 900 N. Grand Sherman, TX 75090 or St. Mary's Catholic Church at 727 S. Travis, Sherman TX 75090.
