Graveside services for Betty Harder, 83, will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, Nov. 30, at the Locust Cemetery, west of Pottsboro. Father Antonio Aureus will preside.

Betty was born Thursday, December 21, 1933 in New Braunfels, Texas to parents Reinhold and Tusnelda (Reininger) Scheel and passed from this life on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 in Sherman, Texas.

Betty grew up in New Braunfels. She married the love of her life, Frank Eugene Harder, on December 21, 1951 in New Braunfels while he was in the service. Betty began working for Texas Instruments in the late 1960s and retiring in the mid 1990s.

Betty loved to sing and had a beautiful voice. She sang at many events as well as in her church. She was a longtime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was a special lady who enjoyed helping people. Family was the greatest joy to Betty. She loved taking care of her grandchildren and making memories by taking them for ice cream at Braum's. She was known to many as 'Momo'.

She enjoyed sewing, gardening, crochet, and traveling. She was a member of the American Bank Travel Club.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1997, sons Larry and John Harder, and brother Randy Scheel.

She is survived by her daughters, Kay Burton and her husband Don of Eustace, TX, and Sharon Segrest and her husband Chris of Sherman, son Steve Harder and wife Robin of Pottsboro, daughter-in-law Pam Harder of Sulphur Springs, 13 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
