O'Hara
January 4, 1939 – October 1, 2022
Joanna Sue O'Hara, 83, passed away peacefully on October 1 st , 2022, in the hospital, with her daughters by her side. Joanna was born in Oklahoma to Houston Wayne and Lydia Marie Huckaby. She grew up in Denison and graduated from Denison High School. She lived in Austin and retired from Texas Commission for the Blind. She moved to Bells, Texas, for her retirement.
Joanna loved to paint, craft, and sew. She loved to collect angels, art, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Her favorite flowers were yellow roses, and purple irises. Her favorite hymn was Amazing Grace.
Joanna was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Gale Huckaby, and Jerry Huckaby; her grandchild Erica, and her great grandchild Cash.
Joanna is survived by daughters; Ellen Blanchard, and her husband Felix, of Southlake, Lisa Grizzle, and her husband Kevin, of Navasota, and Jan Choat of Bedford. She is survived by 5 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. She is, also, survived by her siblings; Marilyn Beaman, and her husband Paul, of Austin, and Michael Huckaby, of Austin. She is survived by her sisters-in-law; Mrs. Gale (Toni) Huckaby, of Wylie, and Mrs. Jerry (Cathy) Huckaby, of Savoy.
Memorial service will be held Friday, November 4 th , at 2 pm at
Waldo Funeral Home Chapel in Sherman.
