Alice Marie Polk was born August 24th, 1964, in Sherman, TX to Rev. Arlie Polk Sr. and Betty Winchester Polk.
Alice attended school in Sherman, TX and graduated from Sherman High School where she was in the Health Occupations Students of America. From an early age she knew she would be in the healthcare field and her entire life she was. She was an Administrative Assistant at Premier Pulmonary Critical Care.
Alice had been taught from an early age the meaning of faith and who God was. In 2005 she accepted her call in the ministry, and in 2010 she was ordained through Daniel Gray Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. She wanted everyone to know God for themselves and know that he was able to do all but fail.
Alice is preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Arlie Polk Sr. and Betty Polk. Brothers Larry and Michael Polk and niece Veronica Denise Polk.
Alice is survived by her husband Gary Wayne Blanton. Sister Rev. Debra Ikenyei of Tom Bean. Brother Arlie Polk Jr. of Sherman. Brother Noble Polk Sr. and wife Anita of Sherman. Nieces Tiffany Polk, Brandy McQueen and husband Gabon Kisha Hunter, Vanessa Hunter (Christopher), Brittany Spencer, Bethany Ikenyei (Jonathan), and Kiara Polk. Nephew Noble Polk Jr. and wife Shatoja and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Alice M. Polk, age 57, ascended to her place of rest until the Lords return on Sunday, July 24th at Texoma Medical Center.
A public visitation will be Friday, July 29 th from 1 P.M. to 7 P.M. at Waldo Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be Saturday, July 30 th at 2:30 P.M. in the Daniel House of Deliverance C.M.E. Church, 2002 S. East St., Sherman. Rev. Anthony Johnson is the host pastor, Rev. R.A. Sommers Sr. will officiate with Minister Tiffany Polk as Eulogist. Burial will follow at West Hill Cemetery.
