Obituary

Allicea “LIsa” Nugent, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully on April, 12,2026 at the age of 65. She was surrounded by her loving family at home in Ontario, California.

Lisa was born on November 19, 1960, in Fort Worth, Texas, to James Arthur and Alice Mayberry.

Born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, Lisa was grounded in faith from an early age. After moving to Denison, Texas, she made a personal and powerful decision to accept Christ as her Lord and Savior at Iron Ore Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. G.W. Dehorney. There, she served faithfully and wholeheartedly.

As her spiritual journey continued, Lisa remained committed to growing in her faith, later finding guidance and inspiration through the teachings of Pastor Craig Davis. Her walk with God was steady, personal, and deeply rooted in who she was.

Lisa devoted her life to caring for others through her work in healthcare, where her compassion, dedication, and steady presence left a lasting mark on everyone she served. Beyond her career, she embraced life fully—offering kindness freely and showing up for others in ways that made people feel genuinely seen, valued, and loved.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Lisa was known for her strength, her warmth, the bold and powerful way she loved her family out loud. Her presence was something you felt—welcoming, comforting, and real. With her infectious smile, down-to-earth spirit, and sharp sense of humor, she had a natural way of bringing people together and lifting those around her.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, LaSonya Thomas, Talinda Perkins (Lonnie), and Amina Nugent; her sons, Jarvis Mayberry, and Mecca Nugent; her siblings, Wanda Nash, Curtis Nash, James Mayberry Jr., Victor Nash, Christopher Nash, and Myron Nash; her 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family & friends who will carry her memory forward with love.

Lisa was preceded in death by the love of her life, James Nugent; her parents, James Arthur and Alice Mayberry; brothers, Larry and Benny Ray Mayberry; and beloved aunts, uncles, and niece.

Rev. Alton Blakely is the Host Pastor and Rev. Craig Davis will deliver the eulogy.
