Alta L. Burch passed from this life on December 12,2023.

She was born February 21, 1932, to Lee and Edith Blackwell, in Greenville, Texas.

She attended Greenville Schools and graduated from Greenville High School in the class of 1949. After graduating high school, she attended East Texas State College in Commerce, Texas. She received her bachelor's degree in 1953. Sherman, Texas was her first teaching position. She taught for 32 years in Sherman.

In December of 1956, she married Charles Burch. To this union, three sons were born. Charles passed away in 2008.

Her parents and a sister (Nan) also preceded her in death.

Alta is survived by sons: Mike and wife Shannon of Azle, Texas; Larry and wife Diane of Edmond, Oklahoma; and Phillip and his wife Larissa of Sadler, Texas. There are four grandchildren: Anthony, Marc, Jamison, and Molly. Great-grandchildren include: Charlotte, Addison, Logan, and Jacob.

She is also survived by nieces: Martha and Aleda.

At her request, there will be no visitation. A private burial at West Hill Cemetery will be held under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.
