Andrew Morrison Hunger (Andy) passed away May 12, 2024, at the age of 94. For the past 26 years, since retirement, he was a resident of Sherman, Texas.

Andrew was born, November 30, 1929, in Coy City, Texas to parents Moritz Anton Hunger and Ruby Jane (Van Winkle) Hunger.  Andrew served four years in the United States Airforce during the Korean War.  He was a proud 1958 graduate of the University of Texas in Austin.  Andrew was a Registered Professional Petroleum Engineer and worked in the oil industry all his life.  He worked the majority of his career for Champlin Petroleum Company and Union Pacific Resources.

His parents, older brother Moritz Jackson Hunger, and daughter, Andrea Hunger McKnight preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years Nancy Ellen (Duehring) Hunger; sister Saralyn Jane (Hunger) Patrick; son Drew Hunger and wife Tracie and their children, Stratton and wife Rebekah, Callen, & Dellon; his son-in-law Reverand Irby McKnight and his children Jordan McKnight and his wife Mary Jo, Erin (McKnight) Ward and husband Nathan Ward, and two great grandsons Canon Ward and Hudson Ward.

Service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Waldo Funeral Home Chapel in Sherman, Texas.  Visitation will begin at 1 PM on Friday, prior to the funeral service.

Andy was a dedicated servant of Jesus Christ all of his life frequently serving as a deacon, teacher, Sunday School superintendent and song leader.  He was a charter member and deacon at Heritage Assembly of God Church in McKinney, Texas for the past 17 years.  He was lovingly respected for his consistent Christian walk and will be dearly missed by his family and friends, all with the earnest expectation of seeing him again in Heaven.
