IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anna Jo
Grant
August 10, 1931 – May 24, 2025
Anna Jo Grant, age 93, of Sherman, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2025, at Cedar Hollow Rehab. She was born on August 10, 1931, in Bells, Texas, to Jodie and Martha Stanley, and was the last surviving member of her seven siblings.
On December 27, 1947, Anna Jo married William "Frank" Grant, and together they built a loving home in Sherman, where they raised their three children: Frankie, Doris, and Patsy.
A talented beautician, she owned her own shop in downtown Sherman before choosing to devote herself fully to her family. She later became a licensed in-home childcare provider, nurturing and shaping the lives of many children. Later in life, she dedicated her time to Sherman ISD's cafeteria staff until her well-earned retirement.
Anna Jo's greatest joy was gathering her loved ones for holiday meals, always making sure to prepare each family member's favorite dessert. Her warmth and generosity left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.
She was a longtime member of Grayson Bible Baptist Church, where her faith was an anchor in her life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Frank Grant, her son and daughter-in-law Frankie and Sue Grant, her parents, and her siblings Alvin Stanley, Ernest Stanley, Ruby Grissom, Jesse Stanley, Jewel McNew, RJ "Buddy" Stanley and Wanda Catalan.
She is survived by her daughters Doris (Steve) Davidson and Patsy (David) McGaha. Cherishing her memory are her grandchildren: Stacie (Walter) Davis, William (Kalinda) Wilson, Cassie (Wesley) Davidson, Thomas (Kaitlyn) Wyatt, and Joshua (Katie) Wyatt, as well as her great-grandchildren: Madison Davis, Victoria (Hayden) Wilson, Willie Wilson, Tatum Wyatt, and Phoenix Schongar. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who fondly called her Aunt Tot.
Serving as pallbearers will be William Wilson, Thomas Wyatt, Joshua Wyatt, Walter Davis, Wesley Johnson, and Tommy Shipp. Honorary pallbearers will be Willie Wilson and Tatum Wyatt.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Guardian Hospice and Cedar Hollow Rehab for their compassionate care and support during Anna Jo's final journey. A special thank you to Nikki and Tammye with Guardian Hospice, as well as Karen, Becky, Jackie and Carrie at Cedar Hollow, for their kindness and unwavering dedication.
