Barbara Douglas went home to be with our Heavenly Father on January 15, 2023.

Barbara was born in Morton, TX, and moved to Sherman, soon after, and lived the remainder of her life.

Barbara worked at the Tanglewood Restaurant in Pottsboro, in the early 1970's as a waitress. She was one of James Drury's favorite waitresses, because she was not star struck, by the actor, who played in the western television show, "The Virginian". She also worked at Levi Strauss in Denison, for several years before getting on at Oscar Myers in Sherman, where she retired.

Barbara was a daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, wife, mother, grandma, great grandma, and friend. She was the very best these because she went through hell and came out on the other side a survivor.

Barbara raised her daughter's and stopped at nothing to provide for them. She gave them the best a mother could give to ensure that their lives be much better than the one she had been delt.

Her life became better in 1983, when she met the man that would become her husband. He treated her like a woman should be and tamed her soul. He made her, as happy as she did him. They vowed to never go to sleep angry at one another. A promise they both kept.

Barbara left lifelong impressions on the people she met. She had a very kind soul, and a heart of pure gold. She was very protective of those she loved. When she loved you, she loved you whole heartily and unconditionally. She would give everything to keep you safe.

Barbara was one of a kind and will never be replaced. She is loved so much and will be missed by so many.

Per Barbara's request, memorial services will not be held, her family does request friends to drop by their home, where she lived, and share a memory of Barbara, at their convenience. It will be greatly appreciated.

Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, Lennie Ray Gibson, and her precious granddaughter, Alyssa Douglas.

Barbara is survived by her husband, James Douglas, sister, Diane Griminger and husband Jim, brother, Dale Linton, sister, Janice Cox and husband Billy, daughter, Gail Ford and husband Paul, and Teresa Kilgore and husband Lee. Her bonus sons, Tony Douglas, and wife Kristy, and Tim Douglas and wife Tina. Her Grandsons, Carl Ford and life partner Sam Crowley, Chris Ford and wife Ashlynn, great grandbabies, Levi, Harper, and Allison, bonus grandbabies, Nic, Jonathan, and Madison, and her brother and sister in-laws in the Douglas family, and several nieces and nephews.
