IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Betty Sue
Jordan
June 21, 1945 – January 23, 2026
Betty Sue (Reno) Jordan
Born June 21, 1945, in Sherman, Texas to David Bryant Reno and Ona May (Giles) Reno.
Betty was a Baptist, being a member of Loving Baptist Church and later Forest Avenue Baptist Church.
While in High School, Betty was a member of the first Sherman High School Hi-Steppers Drill Team. She loved to skate and was a Carhop when she met the love of her life, Johnny Owens Jordan. She and Johnny were married on June 30, 1961.
Being a housewife in the early years, time was spent with her and Johnny's children and lifelong friends, both hosting and visiting. Most weekends were spent with Parents and Grandparents.
Later, Betty worked at Texas Instruments and Burlington Industries, then helped raise her four Grandchildren until her health declined. She was an avid, lifelong Elvis fan, with a collection of albums, pictures, and memorabilia.
After her husband Johnny's passing, Betty spent time making friends at Homestead of Denison. Her Granddaughter Anilla decided to move Betty to her home so she could spend more time with her family and great-granddaughters, as well as enjoy trips to places such as the beach in Corpus Christi, Beaver's Bend, Goat Therapy in Gladewater and mudding with Grandkids.
The last six months of her life were spent at Mullican Care Center in Savoy, Texas, where she passed peacefully in her sleep on January 23, 2026, at age 80. The family would like to thank the aides, nurses and attendants who helped take care of Betty at home and in the Care Center.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband Johnny, sister Sherry Ann Horton, and is survived by Daughter Julie Hughes and Husband Randall, sons Johnny Lee Jordan, James Jordan and wife Margie, brother David Reno II, sisters Bonnie Brandon, Billie Palmer and husband David, Grandchildren Anilla McKinney, Nicholas McKinney, James Ray Jordan, Mercedes "Cede" Jordan, Great Grandchildren Haelee McKinney, Sophia Green, Tobias and Marleigh Wright, as well as numerous Nieces and Nephews.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Chapel on the Hill at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Pastor John Matey of Joshua's Crossing will officiate.
