Betty Joyce Leeder passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024, at her home in Whitesboro, Texas. She was 78 years old.

She was born on February 3, 1946, in Orange, Texas. She was a lifelong resident of Denton County prior to moving to Grayson County, to live out the rest of her retirement in the country surrounded by her family.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy Dison and Lee Roy Fyffe.

She is survived by her brother Roy Fyffe; and her sons, Larry and Henry Leeder; her daughters, Lari Sample and Leah Leeder. She is also survived by several cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren, beloved cousins, nieces and nephews; and numerous treasured friends.

She was a devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Joyce was the ultimate homemaker. Throughout her entire life she devoted herself to caring for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She loved spending time with all her family members, gardening, fishing, reading and anything associated with the outdoors.

Beginning in May, she had an unexpected and quite fast loss in her battle against adrenal cancer and heart failure.

Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to the American Cancer Society or the Adult Congenital Heart Association. A non-profit organizations whose mission is to empower the congenital heart disease community by advancing access to resources and specialized care that improve patient-centered outcomes.
