Betty “Ann” (Payne) Spencer passed away Friday, August 7, 2026, in Sherman, Texas.

Ann was born on May 25, 1940, in Bonham, TX. She was the daughter of S. M. Payne and Iona Hornsby Payne Price.

She graduated from Ft. Worth Poly High School and then attended nursing school. She worked for 55 years in Nursing, a career she loved with tremendous passion. During those years she worked as a Hospital Charge Nurse, a Pediatric Nurse, a Home Health Care Nurse, and as a Charge Nurse and Supervisor in several nursing homes.

Ann moved to Sherman, TX in July of 1990, to be closer to her mom and stepdad. She and her mom loved taking trips together. Their favorite was Branson.

She was a lifelong member of the United Pentecostal Church.

Preceding her in death are her, father, S. M. Payne; mother, Iona Hornsby Payne Price; and a brother, Larry Payne.

She is survived by a sister, Sue McBride; nieces, Traci Payne, Nancy Nichols, and Janet Haynes; and several cousins.

The graveside service will be held at 10 am, Wednesday, August 12th, in the Pavillion of West Hill Cemetery. Rev. Donnie Copeland of Apostolic Pentecostal Church in North Little Rock, Arkansas, will officiate.
