Her Story

Beverly Ann Casey was born in Sherman, TX on November 26th, 1948, to the late Evelyn Ann Goodman and Willie McGee. She attended Fred Douglas School and was a member of the graduating class of 1966. After graduating she was married to the late Richmond Carter and later moved to Louisiana where they were blessed with a son, Detrius.

Upon moving back to Sherman, she was united with the Greater New Hope Baptist Church, where she served as a senior choir member, on the Food Committee and the Women's Ministry, and a faithful member of Wednesday night Bible Study.

On December 3, 2000, she was married to Tommy Casey, where they shared 24 years of marital bliss. Beverly was employed by L.O.F. here in Sherman, where she labored until her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends whom she loved and cherished with all her heart until her health declined.

On Friday, January 12, 2024, Beverly departed this life to join those who had gone on before her. Those left to celebrate her life and memories: husband Tommy Casey; son Detrius Carter (Myra), Sister, Evelyn Gillard, grandchildren, Jasmine Carter, and James Carter, great-grand Covin and Abrielle, and a host of relatives and friends.

A public visitation will be Friday, January 19, 2024 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Waldo Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 11 a.m. in the Greater New Hope Baptist Church- 722 E. Pecan Street in Sherman, Texas. Rev. Stephen Stell is the officiating pastor.

Burial will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman.
