Bev R. Clemmons

Beverly Renee Clemmons, 42, of Calera, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, July 26th.

Bev was born September 5th, 1980, to Dennis and Judy (Lilly) Akin at Wilson N. Jones Regional Medical Center.  She graduated from Sherman High School in 1999 where she was a member of the Sherman High Singers her freshman year and a member of the Acappella Choir her sophomore year. After graduation, she attended Grayson County College.  Then, continued her education at the University of North Texas in Denton.  She began her journey in retail at Old Navy in 1999 as a sales associate and worked her way up to Logistics Manager before leaving after 20 years.  In 2014, she started a new venture at TJ Maxx as their Backroom Coordinator. She transitioned to the Customer Service Coordinator before becoming the Assistant Store Manager.  She was a very hard worker who was dedicated to her job and her employees. Everyone loved her.

On August 13th, 2004, Bev was set up on a blind date not knowing she would be meeting the love of her life, Nathan Daniel "Nate Dawg" Clemmons.  On New Year's Eve that year, Nathan proposed at the stroke of midnight. Of course, she said "Yes!". They were married on August 13th, 2005. On September 3rd, 2006, she welcomed two beautiful, healthy babies, Austin Kane and Alexa Kay.

Bev will forever be remembered as a loving daughter, wife, mother, and friend. She is survived by her children, Austin and Alexa Clemmons of Calera; parents, Dennis and Judy Akin of Sherman; aunts, Bobbie Pratt and husband Ricky of Platter, OK and Barbara Wilson of Honey Grove; uncles, Garry Lilly and wife Liz of Bells, TX and Don Akin and wife Cynthia of Commerce, TX; mother-in-law, Connie Clemmons of Tishomingo, OK; sister-in-law, Kalyn Hightower of Ardmore, OK; nephew, John Ryker Twitchell of Ardmore; aunt, Carole Sweat of Tishomingo, OK; uncle, Robbie Clemmons and wife Kim of Tishomingo, OK; and many cousins and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Clemmons; grandparents, O'Neal and Pauldeane Lilly, and Lloyd and Dottie Akin; grandmother-in-law, Dorothy "GG" Clemmons; and aunt, Sherry "BB" Derouen.

Family and friend visitation will be held Monday, July 31st from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Waldo Funeral Home. The register book can be signed online at waldofuneralhome.com. Funeral services to honor and celebrate the life of Beverly Clemmons will be held Tuesday, August 1st at 2:00pm at Waldo Funeral Home. Rev. Roy Spore and Pastor Brandon Blue will officiate. Burial will be at Troy Cemetery in Troy, Oklahoma.
