Beverly Cowan

Sherman- Graveside funeral services for Beverly Joan Cowan will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, October 13 at West Hill Cemetery.  Rev. Denise Peckham of the First UMC of Sherman will officiate.  Mrs. Cowan, 78, passed away Tuesday, October 10 at Nanaw's Place in Denison.

Beverly was born April 11, 1945, in Sherman to the late Gordon and Lou Belle (Burk) Cook.  She graduated from Tom Bean Schools in May 1963 where she had been crowned Homecoming Queen.  On September 13, 2001, she and Bill Cowan were married in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.  Beverly worked for Texas Instruments for 37 years before retiring.

Mrs. Cowan is survived by her husband Bill of Sherman; three stepsons, Bobby Cowan of New Braunfels, Daniel Cowan of Sherman, and Jerry Pruitt of Houston; stepdaughter Kelley Bliznak of Abilene; two sisters, Carol Thomas of Sherman, and Helen Hall of Tom Bean; sister-in-law, Lanette Cook of Fort Worth; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and one daughter, Karen Renee Hill.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staffs of the Brookdale Willows and Nanaw's Place for their excellent care.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sherman Animal Care and Control.
