Bob Madison was born February 16, 1943, in San Francisco, California. Bob moved to West Texas soon after he was born and was raised in Andrews, Texas in the middle of the oil boom days there. He attended Andrews schools from first grade until he graduated in 1961. Bob then went to North Texas State University in Denton, Texas, and then a year at Odessa College.

He married Patricia (Patty) Leftwich after a three year courtship when she graduated, in 1963, from Andrews High School. These two naive youngsters moved to Denton, Texas where Bob worked two jobs and attended North Texas State University.

Bob secured a job with Texas Instruments and worked there until he graduated from NTSU with a Bachelor’s degree. At that time, he was offered a managerial position and worked at Texas Instruments virtually all of his career.

His biggest passion in life was raising the family out in the country with all of the horses and critters. He loved horses, motorcycles, and travel. Bob and Patty traveled to all 50 states and many foreign countries. He led a full life hiking the highest mountains, motorcyling the trails, and Jeeping the back roads in remote areas with his family. (This was written by Bob Madison)

Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years, Patty Madison; his two daughters, Penny (Alfredo) Saldivar, and Wendy (Jimmy) Morgan; three granddaughters, Emily (Talyor) Reitinger, Alli (Jace) Browning, and Kacie (Garrett) Grigg; plus two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Mike (Charlene) Madison; sisters, Linda (Dennis) Maday, and Dona Morgan.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, May 18, 2026, at Cedar Cemetery, outside of Tom Bean.
