Obituary

Bobby Lane Stephens was born September 10, 1939 at his childhood home in Mt. Hermon, LA as the first of six children to parents Curtis Stephens and Ollie Mae (Lambert) Stephens. On October 11, 2021, Bobby passed away at his home in Sherman, TX surrounded in love by family and friends. Bobby always had a smile and a helping hand. Farming was his passion. He could make anything grow bigger and better. If your garden was not at least a football field long and wide, you were doing it wrong! After farming, he hung overhead doors for Lunsford Doors in Houston, Tx. He later started his own door company. No matter how hard the task or how long the journey, he never stopped being the strong hard-working man that God created him to be. 'No' was not a word used by Bobby when it came to his family and friends. He was deeply loved and cherished by many in life, and he is already very desperately missed.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years Earlene Stephens; daughters Stacey (Stephens) McDaniel; Stephanie Bailey and husband Richard; Deborah (Stephens) Irvine and husband Calvin; son Terry Stephens and wife Sarah; sister Dorothy McKenzie; brother Thomas Stephens and wife Vickie; sister Genelle Vaughn and husband Dennis; granddaughter Courtney Burleson-Fussell and husband Shawn; granddaughter Jennifer Barrett and husband Jonathan; grandsons Jason Brown and Blake McDaniel; great grandchildren Hunter Barrett, Madison Barrett, Jaxson Barrett, William Darwin and Kennedy Brown; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved fur babies Mollie, Brandy and Bella.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents Curtis and Ollie Mae Stephens; brother Curtis Stephens Jr.; sister Patricia Millison; daughters Sherry (Stephens) Byrd and Wendy Burleson; son-in-law Brent Burleson; nephew Jimmy Stephens; niece Lisa Millison and the fur babies that changed his heart and life - Lacey Belle and Buddy.

A funeral service will be held at 10 am, Saturday, at Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. Chaplin Dennis Noblett will officate. Serving as pallbearers will be Shawn Fussell, Tommy Stephens, Jason Brown, Blake McDaniel, Jon Barrett and Terry Stephens.

Burial will be at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman.

The family will receive friends at Waldo Funeral Home, 6 to 8 Pm, Friday evening.
