In Loving Memory of Braden Bruce Sloan

April 17, 2002 – August 7, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Braden Bruce Sloan, age 23, who left this world far too soon on August 7, 2025, in Dallas, Texas.

Born on April 17, 2002, at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Braden was a gentle and kind soul whose presence left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him. Intentional in his actions, genuine in his words, and sincere in his heart, he lived with a depth of authenticity rare in this world.

Braden inspired those around him through his quiet strength, emotional intelligence, and unwavering loyalty. He had a sharp mind paired with a dry wit and humor that could spark laughter even in the most unexpected moments. His wisdom often seemed far beyond his years, and his ability to truly listen and understand others made him not only a friend but also a soulful, safe haven.

Braden was faithful to his gym workouts, especially his workouts with his brother Ethan while home from college. He was set to graduate from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2026 with a bachelor's degree in health science, and he extended his love for health and fitness through his work at Star Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, where he inspired others to pursue strength and well-being.

Braden lived by the theme: stay humble, thankful, and blessed — and live one day at a time. It was not just a saying for him, but a guiding principle that shaped his relationships, his goals, and his way of meeting the world with grace and gratitude.

Braden is deeply loved and will be forever missed by his mother, Stacee Sloan-Caskey; father, Justin Bruce Sloan; brother, Ethan Sloan; stepfather, Jim Caskey; stepmother, Amanda Ball; stepbrother, Ryan Caskey; and stepsisters, Madelyn Caskey, Jerrica Krapf, Haleigh Krapf, Keschel Sheppard, and Kennedi Sheppard. He is also survived by his Nana and Poppy, Teresa and Peter DeCesare; Memaw, Jean Sloan; Aunts, Karee Campos, Tiffanee Ruiz, and Shannon Sloan; and Cousins, Darrien Campos, Daelin Campos, Maddox Martinez, and Landon Wright. His life was a gift to each of them, and his love will remain with them always.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Friday, August 15th, at Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman.

A celebration of Braden's life will be held on August 16th, at First United Methodist Church of Sherman, at 11:00 am. The sanctuary will be open one hour prior to the service for those desiring to pay last respects.

All who were touched by his life are welcome to come together, share stories, and honor the remarkable person he was.
