IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Buddy A.
Moore
February 22, 1935 – July 5, 2023
Buddy A. Moore, 88, loving dad and Papaw, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2023. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Buddy was born Feb 22, 1935 in Roberta, OK to William C. and Leona G. (Osborne) Moore. He attended school in Denison, TX and had a love for bowling. His first job was at the Roller Bowl in Denison setting pins. This eventually led him to Twin City Bowling Lanes as manager in Sherman. Being manager at the bowling alley had its perks as this is where he met the love of his life "Tabby Moore". They were married in 1957. Their life together for over 58 years took them from Sherman to Lubbock; Benton, LA; and eventually retiring back to Sherman.
Buddy was drafted in the US Army in 1957 to the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC. He recorded a total of 35 jumps. After the army he returned to Sherman as the manager of Twin City Bowling Lanes. In 1964 he began his career with Sears in Sherman. In 1976 he was transferred to Lubbock as a cluster merchandise manager including 3 stores until 1980 then transferred to Benton, LA as assistant retail distribution manager. In 1982 he was promoted to service product regional manager consisting of 3 states. Buddy retired from Sears in 1995 and returned to his hometown of Sherman in 1996.
Buddy had a passion for golf and Woodlawn Country Club. Even in the later years of life he could shoot his age in golf. He loved to play in his daily "game" with the guys. He also had a passion for the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers and Dallas Mavericks and never missed a game.
Buddy loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them but his heart was in Sherman on the golf course. He was a man of few words and if you knew him and if he loved or cared about you his words could be tough but he was straight to the point.
Buddy was preceded in death by his beautiful wife Tabby Moore, his parents, his sister Gail Cone and two brothers Jacky and Larry Moore.
He is survived by his sons and their families, Buddy Ray Moore and his wife, Lisa, and Michael Shane Moore and his wife, Sherry; daughter, Laura Ann McIntosh and her husband, Rick; grandsons, Buddy Ray Moore, Jr. and wife, Stephanie, John Moore and wife, Jessica; Michael Shane Moore, Jr. and wife, Crystal; William Moore; Michael Keisling and Charles Keisling; great grandchildren Jude Wilson, Leyton Moore, Mariella Moore, Elizabeth Moore, Nicholas Moore, Riley Keisling, Charlotte Keisling, and niece Sue E.
