Carol LaFrances Cooper born to Leo and Mary Ransom on November 2nd, 1962 in Phoenix, Arizona. She ascended to her eternal home on July 13th, 2024 in Denison, Texas.
Carol and her family returned to Denison, Texas when she was in sixth grade where she continued to attend school. Graduating from Denison High School a part of the class of 1980. She then enlisted in the Army where she served 13 years. Then in 2005 graduated from Grayson County College. Carol worked at American Bank of Texas and stayed with them through their merger with First United Bank and retired in 2023.
She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where she served as a usher, Sunday school secretary, and announcement clerk. Her favorite songs were "Lift him up" and "Thank you, Thank you, Jesus". Carol also enjoyed spending time with her family as well as the occasional visit across the river to the casino.
Anyone who met Carol would describe her as a walking ball of energy. Her thirst for life was always quenched by the interactions she had with those around her. Always making people laugh with her unrivaled sense of humor. Her selfless light always shined and served as a guide to anyone who came into contact with her. Which cultivated endless memories whether you be a lifelong friend or complete stranger, which you wouldn't be for long.
She is preceded in death by her son Brian Lorens Jr. Her parents Leo and Mary Ransom. Her sister Mary Brown. Paternal grandparents Leo and Ruth Ransom and Maternal grandparents Thomas and Lucille Smith.
She is survived by her loving husband Ricky Cooper and her son John Cooper. Her brother Carlos Fugett and sister Angela Braxton. Her sister-in-law Sylvia Cooper. As well as a host of uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Sleep on Carol, take your rest, we love you, but God loves you best.
