Carol Sue Huddleston Holden was born June 30, 1947, in Portales, NM to the home of William Donald Huddleston and Maxine Marion Harris and died in Sherman, TX on the morning of February 8, 2023. Carol grew up living in various locations while her father worked for Mobile Oil Company. She graduated from Eastern New Mexico University with her master's decree. She married Terry L Holden on March 15, 1974, in Portales, NM where they made their home for 23 years. She retired from Eastern New Mexico University in 1994 as the Financial Aid Director. After her retirement, she and Terry moved around the world with various job locations. She was the tour director and the two enjoyed traveling all the countries in western and central Europe.

With her interest in history, she turned to genealogy to study her family. She enjoyed the discovery of her family lineage and giving her the opportunity to join the Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Austin's Old 300, National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century, The Sons and Daughters of Pilgrims, United Daughters of the Confederacy, and the United States Daughters of 1812.

She is survived by Terry, her husband of more than 48 years of their home and a number of cousins and their families.
