Carole Anne Horstman, age 79 of Southmayd, Texas passed away peacefully on March 25, 2023 in her home in Southmayd, Texas at the age of 79.

She was born on February 27, 1944, on Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City, Louisiana to William H. and Helen E. Rocholl. Her family moved to the Dallas area when she was very young. They settled in Garland, Texas where she graduated from Garland High in 1962.

After graduation from North Texas State University in 1966, she began her professional life as an elementary school teacher. While she had many jobs through the years, her passion was the education of children as evidence by her roles as a teacher, special education teaching assistant, long-time childcare provider in her home, and most recently as Director of Religious Education at St. Jude Catholic Church in Allen.

She married the love of her life, Robert E. Horstman, on August 26, 1966, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Garland, Texas where they both grew up.

Carole is survived by her husband, Robert E. Horstman of Southmayd, her brothers, David Rocholl of Garland and Bruce Rocholl of San Antonio, her daughter and husband Christie and George Langlais of Allen, her son and wife, Brian and Cara Horstman of Blue Ridge, and her three grandchildren Collin Horstman of Buffalo, New York, Grayson Langlais of Allen, and Morgan Horstman of College Station.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Roy Rocholl of Fouke, Arkansas.

Her Rosary service will be held at Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman on Tuesday, March 28 ^th at 6:00 PM with a visitation to immediately follow.

A funeral Mass will be said for her at St Mary's Catholic Church in Sherman on Wednesday, March 29 ^th at 11:00 with graveside services to be held immediately following at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Sherman.
