Catherine Jane Van Deren "Katie", 75, of Sherman, Texas, passed away on June 22, 2024. She was born on October 20, 1948, in Fort Collins, Colorado. Katie was a generous, loving, creative and hard-working individual.

Katie is survived by her children Donn II, David & Rebecca and Tamala, her grandchildren Christopher & Kimberly, Danielle & Floyd, Joshua & Melinda and Bethany and great-grandchildren Amory, Azryel and Bentley. She was also survived by her siblings Julie, Jean and Don. Katie was preceded in death by her beloved husband Donn, her parents Fred and Beverly Geis, and siblings John and Fred.

Katie had a passion for family, friends, pets, crocheting and food. She was a homemaker and a great mother, just the right mix of spice and love went into everything thing she did. She was fast to laugh and was loved.

Katie was faithful to God, had a strong believe in prayer, and practiced it often. She worshipped at the Baptist Church and followed many missionaries and their programs.

There will be no services held at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Association of the Deaf (NAD).

Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman, Texas is assisting the family with the arrangements.
