Cathy P. Harvey passed away peacefully on Monday September 18, 2023.

Cathy was born in Bonham on Halloween 1957 to Loy Ray and Evan Nell Owens.  Most people would say this was the perfect birthday for my mom.  She started out and finished up the greatest of characters.

My mom was wild, crazy, independent, spirited, happy, amazing and sometimes if the occasion called for it downright mean.  It all depended on the day and the moment and who needed her. But if you needed her, she was there.  She smiled and so did you.  She had a laugh that everyone who knew her will remember.  She loved loud music, fast cars, her family, her lord, those darn cats, but most of all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She started life with absolutely nothing but a bad story and ended up owning 2 homes and was a success compared to many of the people who were born around her and she did it by herself.  She was a hard worker who never stopped and gave to anyone who needed even if it took away from herself.  Sometimes she even gave when people didn't need it.  There are generations of people out here who will remember my mother and her flyswatter or her telling us kids to go outside the adults are talking. (laughing) My mother firmly believed that kids should be kids because she had to grow up too fast. Hopefully we will all remember that lesson she gave us.

Cathy was preceded in death by her mother and father, and brothers Ray Lynn and Heath, also by her sister Connie May.  She is survived by her sister Kay Miller and her brother Cornell Harvey.  She is also survived by her son Dave Turney and his son Gianni Rockette-Turney. Also by her daughter and her husband Natasha and Chris Henderson and their' children Jasmine Kirk, Lilly Kirk, Gordon Henderson, and David Henderson and by her great grandchildren. Cathy is survived also by so many nieces and nephews and adopted children and grandchildren who helped and became a huge part of her life that there are too many to name. She loved each and every one of them.  Thank you to every person who came into and enriched mom's life. A special thanks to Stephanie & Bobby Haliburton, Annette Haliburton, Stephanie Sutherland, and Auntie Kay for the time and care you gave our mom.
