The Life I Lived

July 3,1973 -September 16, 2023

Catina Daniels-Rice was granted her wings early Saturday morning on September 16, 2023. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends. Catina was loved by all who knew her and touched the lives of many in her short, memorable life.

Catina Daniels-Rice was born on July 3, 1973 to Rodney and Pamela Rice. She received her education through Whitewright Public Schools, graduating in 1991 as class Salutatorian. While attending WHS, she served as the Whitewright Tiger Band Drum Major leading the troop to a 4th place finish at State competition.

After high school, Catina attended East Texas State University (Texas A&M-Commerce). She received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Master's in Guidance and Counseling. While attending ETSU, Catina made a lifelong commitment to sisterhood by joining Zeta Phi Beta, Sorority, Inc. The years spent in Dove Love were her fondest memories in college and she cherished the relationships she fostered immensely. Catina was a proud Zeta and embodied every pearl of Scholarship, Service Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood.

Catina Daniels-Rice professed hope in Christ at an early age while she was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Whitewright, Texas. She later continued her faith as a proud member of First Baptist Church of Hamilton Park in Richardson, Texas under the pastoral leadership of Dr. Gregory Foster.

Prior to complication with her health, Catina Daniels-Rice was employed by New Perspective Counseling Services M.S. LPC and Child & Family Guidance Center LPHA, LPC. She was very passionate about her work and used her gift to offer council and guidance to numerous children.

Catina loved her family with all her heart. She had a special place for her nieces: Amaya Rice, Ashlynn Pitts, and Alayna Pitts. She loved supporting them in all of their activities, traveling near and far to praise their talents. She enjoyed playing card games and facetiming "her babies" – Porter and Emmett Kemp. She cherished her special friendship with Racquel Green, Anna Broom, and Michelle Wilson. Undoubtedly, Catina treasured her relationship with each and every Soror and Frat of Zeta Phi Beta, Sorority, Inc. and Phi Beta Sigma, Fraternity, Inc.

Catina Daniels-Rice was preceded in death by her grandparents Walter and Alverta Daniels, Raymond and Margaret Rice, and George and Bobbi Henry. She leaves to cherish her memories, parents Rodney and Pamela Rice of Whitewright, Texas. Her sister Tamara Rice, nieces Amaya Rice, Ashlynn Pitts, and Alayna Pitts of Anna, Texas, Great Aunt Beulah Brown, a host of special aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
