She was a natural-born caretaker who always placed the needs of others before her own.

Cecilia Ann Lundin, née Richie, of Sherman, Texas, passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 24, 2026, in her hometown of Sherman, after battling dementia and a recent fall. She was 86.

Born on September 9, 1940, in Sherman, Texas, Cecilia’s life was rooted in the community she called home. Over the years, she built a life marked by devotion to family, faithful service, and a caring spirit that touched those around her.

Cecilia worked at Sherden Twin Drive In, J C Penney, and later spent many years with Texas Instruments until her retirement. Her working life reflected the same steadiness and dedication that defined her in every part of life.

She married Jessie Lundin and spent 20 years as a military wife before their divorce. During those years, she traveled across the country, experiencing many places before eventually returning to settle once again in her beloved hometown of Sherman.

A loyal member of Grace Lutheran Church, Cecilia volunteered many hours of service and attended regularly. Her faith was an important part of her daily life, and her quiet commitment to her church community was one more expression of the generosity she carried with her. She was a natural-born caretaker who always placed the needs of others before her own. She cared deeply for her family and for others in her life, and that loving concern will be remembered with gratitude by all who knew her.

Cecilia is survived by her daughters, Mary Cross and Mary’s husband, David, of Manchester, Tennessee; Brandy Lundin of Sherman; and Jessica Bass and her partner, Mark Vance, of Ardmore, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Sharon Lundin of Celina, Tennessee.

She leaves behind her grandchildren, Christopher Lundin of Sherman, Amber Cross of Morganfield, Kentucky, Michael Cross of Manchester, Tennessee, Emma Bass of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Richard and Mark Pearson of Dallas, Texas. She is also survived by her brothers, Aubrey Ritchie and his wife, Nancy, of Van Alstyne, Texas; Jerry Ritchie of Longview, Texas; and Rickie Ritchie and his wife, Leanne, of Houston, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her son, Mark Lundin, and by her parents, Cecil Rudolph Ritchie and Capitola Ferol (Aubrey) Ritchie.

Cecilia’s life was one of service, resilience, and love. She will be remembered for her faithful heart, her caring nature, and the many ways she put others first. Her memory will remain a blessing to her family, her friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
