Charles Glenn "Red" Bateman, 69, of Bells, Texas, passed away on October 30, 2023, in Denison. He was born on May 3, 1954, in Denison, Texas. Red was an amazing paint and body man, having started learning how to work on cars in his early teens. He had a true passion for his craft and often said that he loved what he did so much that it never felt like work.

One of the orneriest people you would ever meet, Red was always joking about something and was always there to help someone out. He had a larger-than-life personality and brought joy to those around him.

Red is survived by his beloved son, Charlie Bateman, and his wife Danielle; his cherished daughter, Shelley Capps, and her husband Eric; his little bass boat daughter, Lindsay Duree, and her husband Warren; his brothers, AD and wife Mary, David, Jimmy and wife Sharon, and John and wife Barbara; his sisters, Mary Spencer and husband Gale, Charlene Smith; his seven precious grandchildren, Emily Capps, Caitlin Schemmel, Sarah Capps, Kevin Bateman, Devin Bateman, Alex Bateman, and Zane Bateman; and his four treasured great-grandchildren, Henley, Barron, Jetson, and Jonah.

Red was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Glenn Bateman, and his mother, Carlie B (Shelley) Bateman, sister in law Claudette Bateman.  As well as several aunts, uncles, and close friends.

A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date, as Red expressed his wishes for no funeral service. Waldo's Funeral Home in Sherman, Texas, is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Red will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will forever be cherished in our hearts.
