On Saturday, September 17, 2022, Dr. Charles E. Prevatt, age 82, went home to be with the Lord.  Services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, September 23rd, 2022, at Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman, TX.

Rev. Caleb Fleming of Fairview Baptist Church will officiate and burial will be at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman.

A Florida Native, Dr. Prevatt earned an Electrical Engineering Degree (EE) from the University of Florida and was involved in such aerospace projects as Apollo, Minuteman and B-2 bomber prior to optometry. He graduated from the University of Houston School of Optometry and practiced in Sherman, TX for 27 years before retiring in 2000. He was a devoted husband, father, papa and uncle.

Surviving is his wife Sarah Prevatt and fur baby Molly of Sherman, TX, his son Scott Prevatt and wife Thuc of Houston, TX, His daughter Karen Gray and husband Chas of Alvin, TX, his son Bobby McCool and wife Kim of Bella Vista, AR; 5 grandchildren, Zoey, Kacie, Chandler, Tyler, and Bobby; and numerous nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Mary Hampton.

Pallbearers will be Cohen Valentin, Brian Valentin, Kurt Whisenant, David Williams and Richard Sproll.
