Charles Louis Probst's Obituary

Funeral services for Charles Louis Probst will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, August 22 at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Rev. Danny Wood of the West Sherman Baptist Church will officiate. Pallbearers will be Gene Shaw, Butch Meek, Don Morrow, Larry LaFoy, Durall Rickerson, and Richard Connor. Mr. Probst passed away Saturday, August 18 at the age of 63 in San Angelo.

Charles was born on May 24, 1944 in Sherman, Texas to the late Louis and Maggie (Francis) Probst. He graduated from Sherman High School in 1962 and married Mary Ann Meek on June 1, 1963 in Sherman. Mary Ann passed away in 1987. Charles married Deborah Griffith on April 20, 2003 in Woodward, Oklahoma. Mr. Probst worked in the utilities and natural gas industry retiring from ONEOK where he had served as a regional manager. He had formerly been with Oklahoma And Lone Star Natural Gas. He was active in many civic activities while living in Ennis, Texas, Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, and Woodward, Oklahoma. His involvements included Lions Club, Rotary, United Way, Chamber of Commerce, and Boy Scouts of America.

Charles is survived by his wife Deborah of Woodward, Oklahoma; one daughter, Elisha Kuehn and her husband Eric of San Angelo, Texas; one son, Mike Probst of Sherman, Texas; two step-daughters, Jillian Griffith of Woodward and Daylene Spray and husband Ross of Edmond, Oklahoma; one step-son, Ben Griffith of Edmond, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Wesley Kuehn of San Angelo, and Emily, Ashley, and Anna Probst, all of Sherman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Maggie Probst, and wife, Mary Ann Meek Probst.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to VistaCare Hospice of San Angelo for their care and support through Charles' illness. Memorials may be made to VistaCare Hospice at 402 N. Bryant Blvd, San Angelo, Texas 76903 or the charity of the donor's choice.
