Charlie Lewis
Cawvey
May 10, 1958 — Oct 26, 2026
Sherman, Texas
Charlie Lewis Cawvey passed away lovingly surrounded by family on October 26, 2026.
Charlie Lewis Cawvey was born in Clarksville, Texas, to Johnny Lewis Cawvey and Mary Francis Whitworth Cawvey on May 10, 1958. He was the only son and has three sisters~Martha Cawvey Jones (husband Alan Jones), Brenda Cawvey Knight, Sandi Cawvey Williamson.
Charlie has numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, his daughter~Asia Andreas Yancey and son~ J.R. Andreas.
Charlie was a sweet man with a pure heart, a strong faith, and a deep love for Jesus. His faith was central to his life, and he cherished his church and church family. He loved worshiping in church, where he would dance and clap with pure joy. Even in sickness, Charlie never lost his smile or his peaceful disposition. He lived with the spirit of Matthew 5:8: “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”
A hardworking and devoted provider, Charlie continued working until he became sick. He took great pride in caring for his family and doing all he could to provide for the people he loved.
Charlie and Stephanie were married in 1993 and shared more than three decades of marriage. Their love story began at work in a way that was anything but ordinary: Charlie tried to run Stephanie over with a floor buffer. Somehow, in the midst of that near collision, love began. By their very first date, they both knew there was something special between them. That first spark grew into years of marriage, laughter, memories, love, and a life built together.
Charlie had a wonderful sense of humor and was never afraid to be silly or laugh at himself. His playful spirit remained a special part of who he was throughout his life.
Although Charlie did not laugh out loud, his laughter took over his whole body, making him bounce with joy. His unmistakable laugh could brighten any room and bring happiness to everyone around him.
Charlie also gave the best hugs. Nearly everyone who knew him requested one because his hugs made people feel loved, comforted, and welcome. They were one of the many ways he shared his generous heart, and they will be deeply missed.
Charlie was a wonderful dog dad and animal lover. He loved the many fur babies who were part of the life he and Stephanie shared throughout their marriage. He cared for them, loved them, and welcomed them as members of the family. His love for animals was another beautiful reflection of the tenderness in his heart.
Charlie was a devoted NASCAR fan. For many years, Jeff Gordon was his favorite driver, and Charlie proudly followed him until Gordon’s retirement. Afterward, Charlie found a new favorite in William Byron and continued enjoying the races and following his driver. Before he found NASCAR he was a devoted Dallas Cowboy fan.
Charlie was the best papa and shared a special bond with his grandson, Bryan, and their relationship was filled with love, joy, and cherished memories. Charlie leaves a special and now an empty place in the hearts of all who loved him and will never be forgotten.
Charlie worked hard, loved deeply, and always tried to care for the people around him. His life was marked by faith, family, humor, hard work, practical wisdom, and love. He will be remembered not only for the years he lived, but also for the love he gave, the lives he touched, the laughter he shared, the hugs he offered, and the memories he created with those who loved him.
“Welcome home, good and faithful servant.”
