Clarence Elliott Patterson Sr was born on October 12, 1938, to Walter & Ella Mae Patterson.  He attended both Whitewright and Sherman public schools.  He graduated from Fred Douglas high school in 1957 and married the love of his life, Betty Ann Crowley on November 3, 1957.  He worked for Carl's Tasty Sausage Company for many many years before going to work at Whitewright Nursing Home and eventually retiring from The City of Whitewright.  Clarence was a Faithful member of Western Beauty CME Church, in Whitewright Texas where he served as Steward and Trustee until his health began to fail him.  Anyone who knew him knew that Jesus Christ and family was the most important things to him in life.  Clarence was proceeded in death by his Parents (Walter & Ella Mae Patterson), Wife, (Bettye A Patterson), 3 Children, (Michael, Sherry, & William Patterson), Siblings (Walter Patterson Jr, William S Patterson, Margaret Rice, Marshall Patterson, Tommie Sue Smith, & Vaughn Daniels).  Left to Cherish are his 8 Children, (Carlos Patterson, David Patterson, Marrandy Brown, Tina Patterson, Antone/Karen Cox, Clarence /Valerie Patterson Jr, Rev Tony/LaTonya Patterson., and Beverly Brown, 30 Grandchildren, a host of great & great great grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews & friends.

Clarence ascended to his eternal home, January 21, 2025, in Sherman following an extended illness.

A public visitation will be Friday, January 24th from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. at Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman.

The funeral service will be Saturday, January 25th at 2:30 P.M. at First Baptist Church, Whitewright with Rev. Dave Bradley as Host Pastor. Rev. Frederick Taylor officiating and Rev. Ronald Waddelton delivering the eulogy.

Burial will follow at Oakhill Cemetery in Whitewright.
