Clifford Nethery, 76, of Van Alstyne, Tx, lost his battle with cancer on July 3,
2023.
Clifford was born in Dallas, Texas on November 18, 1946 and grew up in
Oak Cliff, Texas. He was drafted into the Armed Forces and proudly served
in both Vietnam and Korea. Soon after his arrival home he met Martha
Davaloz and they were married on March 14, 1969.
Clifford was a family man. His favorite pastimes included taking his wife
and daughter shopping, visiting his son and family in Albuquerque, New
Mexico, attending as well as holding holiday family gatherings and of
course, spoiling his grandchildren. He enjoyed perusing flea markets,
gardening and spending lazy days with his dog, Katy. Most importantly,
Clifford was known for his generosity. He never batted an eye when it
came to helping someone, especially someone he loved.
Clifford is survived by his wife, Martha Nethery. His daughter, Kara Nethery
Powell and her two sons, Zane and Aiden. His son, Tony Nethery, his wife,
Melina and their two children, Oliver and Matilda. His sister, LaLa Nethery
and her son, Terry Stanley and his wife, Tima. His niece, Rebeccah
Nethery-Adkisson, her husband Scott and their three children, Charles,
Thomas and Teri Grace.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mildred Nethery and
his two brothers, Charles A. "Skip" Nethery Jr. and Terry Nethery.
Clifford will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at the Dallas-Fort Worth
National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to the Wounded
Warrior Project.
