IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Connie Stevens
Bryant
June 27, 1950 – January 22, 2026
CONNIE STEVENS BRYANT
June 27th,1950- January 22nd, 2026
June 27th, 1950, was a very special day because that's when Connie was born to Jody and Syble Stevens in Ada, Oklahoma. Her family moved around southern Oklahoma and north Texas in her early years and landed in Sherman, Texas during her school years. She attended Sherman High where she met her forever admirer, Tim Bryant, before her family moved to the Houston area in 1966 where she graduated from Aldine High in 1968. Tim did not let her get away though, and they were married in 1968 in Spring, Texas before moving back to Sherman. They were married 2 months short of 57 years.
For the next 21 years she worked on her college education while raising her two children in Oklahoma, Colorado, Nebraska, and Texas. She earned her BS degree in Education Magna-Cum-Laude from the University of Nebraska Omaha in 1991. She then taught 5th grade in the Columbus, Nebraska ISD for a few years before moving back to Texas in 1994. Connie was the spiritual rock of her family, and she also made significant contributions to the many churches they attended. Since returning to Sherman, she attended Redeemer Presbyterian Church in McKinney. After 20+ years on the south shore of Lake Travis in the Austin area, their final move was back to Sherman.
She liked to travel, birdwatch, and camp, but her main interest was cherishing her family and the many friends she made everywhere she went. She seemed to make friends instantly and then maintain them forever. She possessed the highest personal character and always strived to put others' needs before her own. Connie was a small woman in physical stature, but the departure of her spirit leaves a gigantic hole behind.
She is survived by her husband, Tim of Sherman; sister Kim Grimmett and husband Bobby of Montgomery; daughter Amy Jaska of Sherman, her husband Joe and 5 Jaska grandchildren, Jay, Jordan, Jenna, Jessica, and PJ; son Bradley Bryant and wife Amy of McKinney. Additionally, there are at least 5 nieces and nephews and various aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jody and Syble and her brother, Mark.
