Constance Anne Keating was born on 25 November 1941 to Michael and Helena Misialek (née Stawarz). She died 13 September 2023 in Sherman, Texas. Connie graduated from Seton High School and became a student nurse at St. Agnes Hospital, both in Baltimore, Maryland; the same hospital in which she was born.
While at St. Agnes, she met and married Philip Keating, an English doctor who had recently immigrated to the US and was an intern at the same hospital. They lived all over the US and enjoyed three tours in Europe as she supported his career as an Army physician. She was an "Army wife" for 36 years making a home for their five children and embracing each change as an adventure.
Connie's career as an Army wife included tours in Heidelberg, Germany; Ft. Sam Houston, TX; Walter Reed AMC; Ft. Devens, MA (where she was awarded the Clara Barton medal for service to the American Red Cross); Hawaii; Ft. Polk, LA; SHAPE (Belgium); Fifth General Hospital (Stuttgart, Germany); Ft. Gordon, GA; and Ft. Stewart, GA.
After the Army, they lived in Savannah, Georgia for 25 years before moving to Sherman, Texas in 2021 where they shared a house with the Boessens; Kate et al.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, her Uncle Charlie Stawarz, her Cioci Anne and Matthew Ossolinski, and her cousin, John Ossolinski.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Philip; her sister Carol (and brother-in-law Ray Fox); her sons Joseph "Joe" (and daughter-in-law Lisa) and Daniel "Dan" (and daughter-in-law Kay); her three daughters Suzanne (and son-in-law John Horan, MD), Nicolette "Nicki" (and son-in-law Matt Hicks), and Kathryn "Kate" (and son-in-law Brett Boessen, PHD). They both sang in the choir at Notre Dame. When she died, she had 13 grandchildren: Ava Keating, MA (spouse -Charlie Spears); Sara Horan, MD; Emily Horan, MLIS; Sophia Keating, RN (no, she is not in the Royal Navy); Joseph Horan; Teresa "Tessie" Horan, MD; Lillian "Lilly" Boessen; William "Will" Boessen; Lucy Boessen; Michael "Pip" Hicks; Mia Hicks; Christopher Hicks; and Margaret "Maggie" Boessen; her niece, Amy Fox, MBA; nephews Brian Fox, MBA, and Kevin Fox; and cousins Richard Ossolinski, Jackie Misialek, Diane Watson and Nancy Misialek.
Connie was a lifelong Catholic, a loyal friend, a wonderful mother and a beloved wife.
