Curtis Coy Collins went home to be with his Lord Jesus Christ November 7, 2024. He was born in Denton, Texas on May 20, 1954 to Thomas and Darlene Collins and was raised in Dallas, Texas. After graduating from Carter High School, he served in the Army for three years as a medical corpsman in Germany where he received the National Defense Service Medal. He attended college on the G.I bill and earned a degree from Southern Arkansas University Technical-Camden. Later he would go back to college, this time to Texas State Technical College in Waco, Texas. His work career started in Dallas, TX with Apple before Apple was a big thing, and later he lived and worked in Norman, Oklahoma where he and his dog, Suzie survived a tornado. They were rescued separately and later reunited with the help of family and friends via Facebook posts!

He was a member of Victory Life Church, Sherman Campus and one of his favorite organizations to support was Operation Kindness, a pioneer in Texas for assisting animals in need of veterinary care, companionship, and most of all, a home. Over the years he rescued several dogs and was a good friend to every one of them.

In addition to his parents, Curtis is survived by his brother, Tommy Collins, Denton, TX, sisters, Sheila Collins, Denton, TX and Carnelia Blazo and her husband Stephen Blazo Sr., Sherman, TX., nephews William Collins, Denton, TX, and Ben Collins and his wife Erica Collins, Decatur, TX, Megan LaPell and her husband David LaPell, Sherman, TX, Molly Trowbridge and her husband Chuck Trowbridge, Sherman, TX, and Melissa Coltman and her husband, Chris Coltman, Denison, TX, and many great-nieces and nephews.
