Cynthia "Cindy" James Mathis passed away in her sleep the morning of December 7, 2025 at the age of 56. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She was a friend to many. She loved to tell people to call her big butter from the 903 "country thuggin". She always told people she was a "rolling stone". She had a big heart full of love for others and for God. She never judged anyone and was ready to save everyone despite any shortcomings. She was preceded in death by her mother Doris Sanford Webb, Donald James, and  her brother Clinton "Clint" James. She is survived by her daughters Melissa Baula and Monica Mathis. Her grandchildren Alex Palma, Amanda Baula, Aaron Baula, Lizette Baula, Austen Phillips, great granddaughter Legacy Rutherford, and brother William James.
