Dana Lee McCray, age 63, of Petty, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026 in Texarkana. He was born on May 2, 1963, in Sherman, Texas, to Carlton L. McCray and Alma McCray, both of whom preceded him in death.

He attended Sadler ISD and spent his life becoming known by family and friends as a man who could fix nearly anything mechanical. Whether it was an engine, a piece of equipment, or something others had given up on, Dana had a gift for understanding how things worked. His hands, knowledge, and determination became his trademark, and many relied on him for help, advice, and solutions into his last days.

He was brother to Donnie, Johnny, Dennis, and Douglas McCray who preceded him in death; and survived by his brother Dale McCray.

He left behind his children, Carlton T. McCray, Dina McCray, and Jared McCray; as well as six treasured grandchildren who he loved dearly.

Dana will be remembered for his hard-working spirit, mechanical mind, quiet strength, and the lasting impact he made on those who knew and loved him. His memory will live on through his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
