Daniel Glen Cowart, 70, passed away January 30, 2023.

He was born August 25, 1952, in Houston, Texas to Daniel "Frank" and Eloise S. Cowart.

Danny grew up as a member of Park Place Baptist Church. His ministry to others began early on as he served in the "Fishnet", an evangelistic team. He served at Woodland Baptist Church in Houston, Woodforest Baptist Church in Houston, and Fairview Baptist Church in Sherman, Tx. Throughout his ministry he served as youth choir director, adult choir director, youth minister and minister of education.

Danny was a proud father and loved his children, Kimberly and Michael dearly. He enjoyed coaching both of them in soccer and baseball. He was very involved in all their activities.

After Danny retired, he enjoyed fishing in his pond, gardening, and working in his shop. And most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Danny is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carol Cowart; daughter, Kimberly Goodrich and her husband Grant, and their son Ian; son, Michael Cowart and his wife Blaine and their son Canon; sister Sherron Fowlkes; nephew, James "Frank" Fowlkes; niece, Jennifer Fowlkes, her son Jacob and daughter Jacqueline; aunt, Jo Anne Turner; numerous cousins; and countless friends and additional relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents Eloise S. and Daniel "Frank" Cowart; and a nephew, Jason Fowlkes.

A memorial celebration of Danny's life will be held 11 am, February 9, 2023 at Fairview Baptist Church in Sherman.
