It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Danny Thompson on January 26, 2024. Arrangements are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.

Danny was born August 21, 1954, in Sherman, Texas to Edward and Imogene Thompson.

Danny was a loving father and grandfather who devoted his life to his family. He was always there when you needed him. He was a hardworking, strong, loving, and caring man. He also loved to fish and boat on the lake with his family. He enjoyed rooting on his favorite sports teams, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Rangers. He loved to listen to classic rock music, especially ZZ Top. He loved classic cars, watching movies, WWE wrestling and memorizing every episode of "The Andy Griffith Show."

He is proceeded in death by his father and mother, Edward and Imogene Thompson. He leaves behind his daughter, Amanda Roberson and her husband Jason, his son, Eric Thompson and his wife, Tina and his grandchildren, Austin, Nathan, Justin, and Amy Thompson. He also leaves behind his brothers; Tommy Thompson, Ronny Thompson and wife Becky, and Mike Thompson and wife Jodi, and his sister, Pam Sadeghi and husband John, nieces, nephews and many family members and friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 29, 2024, from 6:00 - 8:00pm at Waldo Funeral Home. A service celebrating Danny's life will be at 1:00pm, Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Brian Taylor of Forest Avenue Baptist Church will officiate.

The burial will be at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman.

The pallbearers will be Eric Thompson, Austin Thompson, Jason Roberson, Chris Sadeghi, Gabino Tinajero, and Dillon Tinajero.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you kindly make a donation to The Alzheimer's Association @ ACT.ALZ.ORG or The Prostate Cancer Foundation @ PCF.ORG in memory of Danny Thompson.
