Daniel "Danny" Raymond Wood, 82, of Sherman, Texas passed away on July 12, 2025, in Plano, Texas. Danny was born on May 27, 1943, in Bisbee, Arizona. His parents were Roy Wood and Shirley Wood.

Danny graduated from Haileyville High School, and after High School he started pastoring at age 17 and has pastored 17 churches. He has pastored at West Sherman Baptist for 47 years and served as pastor of East Baptist Church in Denison for 13 years as well as several other churches in Oklahoma. Everyone that knew Danny knew his love for the Lord, and for his church.

Danny married the love of his life, Virginia Rose Dutton Wood, on March 29, 1963, in Haileyville, Oklahoma. Some of Danny's hobbies included riding horses and he loved old cars.

Danny is preceded in death by his mother, father, and sister.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Wood, brother Doug Wood of Harthorne, Oklahoma, and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Pittsburg Cemetery in Oklahoma. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
