Dassie Ruth Magers, 93 years old, of Sherman, passed from this life Sunday, January 14, 2024.

She was born September 8, 1930, in Pilot Grove, Texas. She was the daughter of Willis and Lillie Bell (Cato) Goodnight. She attended Pilot Grove and Tom Bean Schools. She was a graduate of Tom Bean High School. Dassie married Lonnie B. Magers on May 17,1948 in Sherman. The were married for 70 years until Lonnie's death on December 5, 2018.

Dassie worked at Texas Instruments for over 25 years. She enjoyed working in her yard and traveling with her husband.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie; Parents, Willis and Lillie Goodnight; brother, Howard Goodnight; and sister, Mary Hamilton.

Surviving are her son, Donnie Magers and wife Carol of Sherman; daughter, Connie McIntyre and husband Lanny of Sherman; Son, Dennis Magers and wife Vicki of Missouri; Daughter, Cheryl Robinson and husband Steve of Sherman; and a sister Opal McGrath of Pennsylvania.

Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-granchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 20th,  in The Chapel on the Hill at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman. The Reverend Vergie Holbrook will officiate.
