David Larry Smith, 81 years old, of Pottsboro, TX, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2024.

David was born March 28, 1943, in Sherman, TX. He was the son of Elzie Leon and Eva Mae (Burleson) Smith.

He was a veteran of the US Air Force having served during the Vietnam War. After service to his country, he worked at Texas Instruments as a maintenance mechanic, retiring after 44 years of service.

He was a member of the Travis Masonic Lodge 117 since the early 1980s.

David is survived by his son, Mike Smith and his wife Ashley Smith of Argyle, TX, grandsons; Trey Thompson and Cole Smith all of Argyle, TX, sister, Carolyn Gray of Georgetown, TX, nieces, Stephanie Brinkman and her husband Bob Brinkman of Round Rock, TX, Gina Milford and her husband Greg Milford of Lubbock, TX, and nephew, Benjamin Brinkman.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service will be held Monday, June 3rd, at 10:00 am, in Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Brian Taylor of Forest Avenue Baptist Church will officiate. The burial will be at Cedarlawn Memorial Park with military honors.

The family will receive friends 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Sunday, June 2nd, at Waldo Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Bob Brinkman, Greg Milford, Tommy Burleson, Ronnie Pennell, Mike Wynne, and Danny Akers.
