David James Taylor, age 71, of Sherman, Texas passed away Monday, March 31, 2025. David is the son of Aaron J Taylor and Letha Lynn Taylor. He was born in San Francisco, CA but lived most of his life in Texas. He loved restoring old wood.

Worked as a carpenter most of his life after he retired Bull riding. He was a champion bull rider in his younger years. His father and 2 brothers were team ropers, but he preferred bull riding. David and Deniese shared 40 years together but didn't legally tie the knot until March 2, 2002. He was her best friend, protector and husband.

David is preceded in death by his parents Aaron J Taylor and Letha Lynn Taylor.

He is survived by wife Deniese Aline Taylor and 2 stepdaughters, Angela Sue Strobl and her spouse Brandon Carl Strobl and their daughter Brynna Jamie Lynn Strobl, Jamie Rachelle Smetzer and her spouse Joshua Philip Smetzer and their children Zalea Alexis Smetzer, Josiah Scott Smetzer, Anwen Olivia Smetzer.

His memorial will be at Bear Head Baptist Church in Sivells Bend, Texas. Brother Jimmy Davis will preside over the memorial and his daughter Charity Davis will be singing a very special song called "Scars in Heaven" by Casting Crowns.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations are made to Gideon Bibles or Bear Head Baptist Church in Sivells Bend.
