Desiree Kay Slaughter, 57 years old, of Sherman, TX, passed away on October 15, 2025, at the Woodlands Place Rehabilitation Center in Denison.

Desiree was born April 16, 1968, in Sherman, the daughter of Samuel Marc and Tonsy Ann (Wright) Kilgore. She was a graduate of Bonham High School.

She held many jobs over her career, but most recently she was the office manager at Credit Choice Motors. She was a member of King's Trail Church.

Desiree was a caring, loving person who took great joy in taking care of others. She loved hard. She went out of her way to help anyone who needed it. She was always the life of the party and kept everyone in line.

She adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with them as much as possible. Most of all, she was the best Mom/Deedee that anyone could ask for!

Desiree was preceded in death by her father, Samuel Marc Kilgore, her grandmothers, Ruth Kilgore and Helen Wright.

She is survived by her daughter, Morgan Slaughter, son, Clay Slaughter, son-in-law, Luis Erives, granddaughters, Catalina Erives, Mila Erives, Salem Erives, all of Sherman, Carter Slaughter, Cove Slaughter, both of Whitesboro, TX, and mother, Tonsy Kilgore of Fransten, TX.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 pm, Sunday, October 19th, at Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman.

Graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Monday, October 20, at Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham, TX.
