Diane (Talley) Richardson was born September 1, 1943 in Mexia, Texas to Edgar and Novell (Farris) Talley. She passed from this life on Monday, November 6, 2017 in Denton, Texas at the age of 74.
Diane grew up in Sherman and graduated from Sherman High School in 1961. She married the love of her life, Jack Richardson, in Sherman of 1961. Diane and Jack were members of Forest Avenue Baptist Church and she was very active with the Girls Auxiliary.
Diane was well-known for smiling, and had the nickname 'Smiley'. She even continued to smile even through her illness. She loved her husband, children and grandchildren. Diane enjoyed photography, sewing, and painting. She also loved to decorate and was very creative at everything she did.
She is survived by her husband, Jack, of Denton, daughters, Jennifer Phillips and her husband, Scott, of Denton, and Gayle Green of Uncertain, TX, grandchildren, Julie Arieta and her husband, Matthew, of New Hampshire, Jamie Coupaud and her husband, Lance, of Arlington, Washington, Katherine Phillips and her husband, Richard Keaton, of Thackerville, OK, Bonnie Lawson and her husband, Jack, of Denton, and Kylie Phillips of Denton, 1 great granddaughter, 4 great grandsons, her sister, Zarine Strain, of Bryan, TX, and many nieces and nephews.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Ernest and Merlin Talley.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, Nov. 9, in the Waldo Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Brian Taylor officiating. She will be laid to rest at Wilson Chapel Cemetery near Donie, Texas.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Nov. 8, from 5:30-7:30 PM at Waldo Funeral Home.
