Donald Dwane Berger was born on October 10, 1954, in Bonham, Texas.  He passed away on October 11, 2023, surrounded by family.

He was of the Baptist faith and attended Heights Baptist Church in Alvin, Texas and later Sandy Baptist Church in Ravenna, Texas.

He attended school in Alvin, Texas and Bonham, Texas graduating from Bonham in 1973.  He married Phyllis McKelva Berger on July 27, 1974.  Together they have two children and four grandchildren.

Donald worked at Fisher Controls in Sherman and later started his own business R&B Foam Insulation which he ran until 2021.  His hobbiesincluded deer hunting, fishing, and golf.  His pride and joy were his children and grandchildren.  He loved going to their ballgames, golf tournaments and school activities.

Surviving Donald is his wife Phyllis, son Cody Berger and wife Julie, daughter Jamie Morris and husband Grant, grandchildren Micah Berger, Zachary Berger, Presleigh Morris and Phoenix Morris, brother Vonda Berger (Bonnie), stepbrothers Ronnie Keene (Linda), Bobby Keene (Lynn), stepsister Terressa Quinn (Tom) half sister Vickey Glover, and numerous cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Bill Berger, stepmother Meryle Berger, mother Dorothy Copeland, sister Geniece Berger, nephew Bryan Berger.

Visitation will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman.  A memorial service will follow at 2:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Home Hospice of Grayson County or the charity of your choice.
